Interested in adaptation of rhizobia strains to different soil environments and to abiotic stress? The Department of Ecology at Lincoln University is advertising a three year scholarship (covering living costs and tuition fees). Particular interest will be on adaptation of strains to different soil environments and to abiotic stress. The candidate will explore the mechanism by rhizobia deliver benefits to the plant and test their compatibility with a range of legume species. The project will be jointly supervised by staff from Lincoln University and AgResearch Ltd. Applicants should have an interest and general working knowledge of microbiology and plant biology with basic skills in molecular biology. This position is available for an immediate start.
