At Lincoln University there are several blogs being supported by staff in addition to EcoLincNZ. One of particular interest is “GIS Blog” which is written by Crile Doscher and Brad Case and focuses on GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Many of the research that is done the Department of Ecology is interested in using GIS to establish home ranges for various species, especially for our postgraduates, e.g. possums, mice, cats and so on. A recent blog Home on the range was written primarily for some of our ecology students and step by step details on how to construct a home range. So if you are interested in building home ranges or simply want to see what Edith the Wapati gets up to in her spare time, then head on over.
