Darwin and the Sandwalk: social distancing

I wonder how Darwin would have coped with the current Covid pandemic. I guess Victorians were somewhat used to plagues and so on sweeping through the land. I suspect Darwin wouldn’t have minded much if he lived today. Yes he had a lot of children, but I don’t think he would have had to home-school them himself. He was independently wealthy and so he didn’t need to work. He enjoyed being out of the way at Down House and so would not have been worried about a lack of visitors. He had the solitude of the Sandwalk to social distance himself while he walked and thought. He was a bit of a hypochondriac so I image he would have a lot of hand sanitisers around. He would definitely be a mask wearer. I’m not sure how how he would have responded to Zoom meetings though….
